"I have received a copy of one of Richard's earlier releases, "68 Late Cornucopia Drive." From the opening track of the same name, every tune of the nine is enjoyable and there is a tune for everyone, regardless of your taste in music.

The opening tune, "68 Late Cornucopia Drive," is somewhat progressive in flavor, with some jazz thrown in. Richard's guitar work (including tone) is very pleasant on the ears, and very melodic. This tune pulls you in for what is really a short ride through the rest of the tracks.

Track two, "It Is What It Is," is an uptempo pop number with a great melody line.

Then comes an amazing track called "To My Love" with an amazing mix of keys and multitracked guitars and percussion. This track alone made me sit up and take notice. In fact, first time through listening, this one got played four times.

For a lot of the tracks on this release, Richard mixes in brass on the keys before layering in his guitars... "Lady Eve," which is track four, a very spanish flavored ballad, does just that. Very soothing.

Richard then carries that Spanish flavor forward for track five, "Vista Del La Noche," a somewhat Santana-ish, uptempo tune.

"Storm Shadows" starts out with a late-60s vibe, and evolves quickly into a great mid-tempo toe-tapper. The light use of keys in this one is nothing short of amazing to me and very tasteful, along with the backing guitars.

Then, another melodic ballad. "Once in a Lifetime" has a tremendous melody line that I was humming for a few hours.

"Temporal Blades," another progressive tune, again utilizes the keyboards, which flow nicely behind Richard's lead guitars, which intertwines and dances nicely together. This one garnered a few back to back plays too.

This collection closes with "Forever On," a slow, fitting tune for what a very enjoyable collection of electric lead guitar music. Richards arrangements and uses of other instruments, which are all played by him, has made this CD a favorite of mine.

This was a fantastic CD, and my only disappointment was that track nine was the last one! If you're in the market for lead guitar driven music, this gem is definitely worth every penny of the purchase price."

"Having recently purchased a copy of “Images from the Desert” by independent artist, Richard J. Baysinger, I was eager to sit back and enjoy listening to something a little different than my ‘usual’ fare. The title of the CD sparked my interest right from the get-go, and the music that followed, certainly lived up to all my anticipations & expectations.

With a unique combination of South Western (USA) traditional influences, crunchy NU Metal guitar tones, and a progressive, modern-rock direction Richard brings forth a well-rounded blend of light acoustic sounds, and heavy guitar rhythms into the arena. Add to that, some masterful keys, complex transitions, a series of lovely melodies, and we have a collection of twelve great tunes.

The opening number “The Badlands” rides out to set the stage with its Native American vibes and portrays the beauty, serenity, mysticism, and forlorn characteristics of the desert wilderness in a very captivating and mellow rendition. I can truly visualize, the rugged expanse, and imagine the hidden stories that lie beneath each & every rock.

I hear several influences within. Kansas , ELP. Yes, and Rush all quickly come to mind, which help create Richard’s unique style & signature sound. Also, touches of country are noticeably present in the mix. The entire album is very solid, tight and overall, the sound is very full, with lot's going on...but it still has a nice 'open' feel to it, with plenty of room to breathe...I didn't find any places too meshed or congested. In my opinion the 'progressive' attributes are definitely the strongest of all...some great transitional passages and twists that keep the instrumental tracks flowing nicely like a meandering river.

Richard comes out with both barrels blazing on “The Forsaken part #1” (This is undoubtedly my favorite tune here.)  I love the combination of heavy NU-Metal raunchy tones, high energy, and the Arabian flavored melodies on the keys....this one definitely rocks for me, it has great depth and takes one on a complete journey. The lead solo’s have some great tones and rip with emotion from the strings. Very cool synthesizer work too.

Throughout the project, the audio quality and final mixing are excellent, and all the spicy ingredients come together just like they should!!!

The CD hightails outta Dodge with track #12, entitled “Liar”.  I really enjoyed the inclusion of the female vocals on this one, and the intriguing mix of heavy/acoustic layers that generates a smooth powerful tune with just the right balance of rock hard crunch & softness. The lead guitar passages are both sweet and distortion to the max, which fit perfectly here.

Overall, I must highly commend Richard J. Baysinger on his pro level composition and production skills….This one rocks all the way to El Paso and back!!!  Thanks for the great music." - KEV VINCENT
