"Now here are a couple of local boys who show some real
musical talent. Gone are the days of melodic progressive metal (at least in
Pittsburgh), but the rest of the world still enjoys it very much. I too enjoy
really well played music and Third Voice can hold their own with bands like
Dream Theatre, Fates Warning and Queensryche all day long. When most people hear
this type of music they automatically think, "Go to Europe," but there
are a lot of new and upcoming labels making marks in the music industry strictly
on progressive metal in the US again. Well played music will never die and Third
Voice is definitly in that category." - DA'CORE
"This
album is amazing. Two men (each at the age of 24) from Pittsburgh/USA are
hitting the prog underground with one of the best progmetal albums that I heard
this year. After 1 minute of the opener Reflections (one of the best
progmetal songs I ever heard) you will realize the quality of Third Voice. Wow.
This band really has found a way to deal with the 4 corners melody, being
creative, sounding progressive and never loosing the song structure. (BTW: This
is what exactly what I am missing while listening to Enchant).
Over all this album offers you all that a progmetaller's heart would die for:
Drumming and Riffing somewhere between Fates Warning (esp. the old ones) and
Enchant, melodic and emotional parts as well as hymnic part, epic powermetal and
enormous drive that will give you headbangin' fun several times. And: very good
vocals. This album really stunned me ...
The bandinfo says: "There is an amazing progressive rock/metal
unerground scene all over the world and Third Voice plans to be a part of
it." Third Voice, you are not only a port of that scene, your are
at the top of it and determined for more ! 8 points" - Markus

"A
few months ago I reviewed the debut CD of THIRD VOICE, which was 'Reflections',
originally released in 1998. Now, this duo (vocalist Jeff Kearney and
multi-instrumentalist Jason Pirone) has released a new CD, entitled 'Moments
like these'. And I can tell you this is a very good album that contains pure
Progressive Rock with a lot of melodies. There are 14 tracks on the album, and
my favourites include "Setting sun" (pure Progrock, great melodic chorus), "Take
me back", "Blinded", "Moments like these" and the last 3 tracks. Those last 3
songs on the CD show a slightly different side of THIRD VOICE. The calmer
ballads "New day" and "Carry my soul (part 1)" are both very good and remind me
of GARY HUGHES and TEN. Part 2 of "Carry my soul" closes the CD and is another
great more AOR/Melodic Rock orientated semi ballad, again a la TEN. This new CD
of THIRD VOICE is a recommended piece for anyone who likes melodic progressive
rock, somewhere a cross between DREAM THEATER and TEN, only without the big
production arrangements." - Gabor Fabian,

"This
progressive metal band hails from Pittsburgh and is not really a band but a duo.
Jason Pirone (music) and Jeff Kearny (Vocals) came together in 1996. They
searched for other musicians but were not able to find suitable guys to complete
the line up so they decided to go on as a duo. In 1998 they released the album
"Reflections". This was already a strong melodic progressive metal album. It
took them four years to come up with a new album but the long wait was well
worth it. "Moments Like These" is 14 songs long and brings progressive rock /
metal loaded with beautiful melody lines, captivating songs and emotionally
loaded vocals. The band draws influences from some big progressive bands but
they are able to mould all these emotions in their own sound. Jason Pirone is
truly a gifted composer. The songs he writes grab you by the throat and mess
around with your emotions. All songs are smooth but hold at the same time lots
of inventive arrangements. Jeff Kearny's vocals are powerful and very emotional.
The only negative point I can think of is the same thing that I said about their
previous CD. Get rid of that drum computer. It sounds better on this new album
but still you can hear that it is a machine producing the drumming. "Moments
Like these" is a disk that every melodic progressive metal fan should buy and I
hope that this duo will be picked up by a label soon." - Phillipe Duarte,
