"Gather together ten artists from the Fossil records music label, and put together a compilation of ten inspiring Progressive lyrical rock and metal tracks, clocking in at 50 minutes and what do you have? An album that showcases Fossil Records independent musicians and an album that says we are for real. Believe me, this is an album that gives the skeptic an opportunity to judge what fossil records has to offer. This album will definitely have you running back to Fossil records to buy the Independent artist full-featured albums.

The album starts with Defyance on “From The SKY” a great progressive melodic metal track from the album "Time Lost".

Endangered Species tags in with Deliverance from the album “Colours Among The Blind” this is a great up-tempo progressive metal track that I highly enjoyed.

Next up, Jeffery Ryan Smoots serves up a shuffling little prog rocker called “Wings Of Gold” from the album “Wings Of Gold”.

Next to chime in on track four, is Reindal on “Extinction Level” from the album “Reindel” – Who is Reindel? A quality progressive act from Ohio featuring the brothers Jim and Tim Reindel. The song “Extinction Level” is the first track from their debut album and it is a musically interesting track, at times sounding like Rush, and having a little funky edge to it. This is another killer prog track as is the next song and one of my favorites on the album.

“Ebb and Flow” from the album “Color Of Space” is Singularity's debut album. The band is classified as melodic neoprogressive rock it is also reminiscent of Rush but without the big phat sound. Neo proggers will love this band.

”Sides Of A Different Kind” from Cerafim
is the featured song from their debut album “Sides Of A Different Kind”. The album was released back in 1995 but the music sounds as fresh and exciting as if you would hear it for the first time every time. The song itself is a gem to listen to, it is very lovely, and the soothing vocals of John D’Addona are sung with passion.

The Next number on the Disc “From Where You Stand” offered up by (Third Voice) from the album “Reflections”. The band hails from Pittsburgh PA. Their music is Progressive Metal the song “Where You Stand” is a melodic progressive rock piece that captures the essence and the finesse of this underground band. It is another of my favorite songs off the album.

Following up on track eight is Inner Resonance featuring “Solar Wind” from the album “Solar Voices”. Jeffrey Ryan Smoots (guitars, keyboards, and drums) is paired up with Peter Orullian (vocals and keyboards). According To Fossil records, the group is listed as progressive rock, although I would place them close to being in the Progressive metal category. I have had a chance to listen to the whole album and “Solar Wind” only taps the edge of the Solar Voices solar system. This is an incredible underground album that needs to be heard in its entirety. Not to mention the incredible solar voice of Peter Orullian, “WOW” is all I can say for the moment!

On the next track, Orion Syndrome features “Weather Report” from the album “The Progressive Perspective” a greatest hits album of sorts. The song is a nice progressive track to listen to but I can’t help but think that Orion Syndrome sounds a little bit like Castanarc.

Last but not least is “Event Horizon” by (The Franklin – Neuman Project) from the album “Machinery Of The Gods”; a killer song enough said!

In sum, the main inspiration of the making of this album was to get you, the consumer, connected to Fossil Records and what better way to do it but thru a compilation album of their various artists. My recommendation is to purchase this album and get tuned in on some of the best underground progressive rock your going to find under one label. All the songs shine on this album, so don’t get cheap on Fossil records, make sure you buy it!
So what are you waiting for? Go get it!" - George Roldan, Prog4You.com
